4.2 PLANET EARTHS

5 LIGHT SPHERES FOR THE NEW RECYCLING STATION AT THE GLADSAXE MUNICIPALITY

The light installation 4.2 Planet Earths shows how discarded objects can gain new value through a shift in perception. The materials have been selected from the municipality of Gladsaxe's former recycling station in collaboration with the local initiative, Genbrugslopperne. The work addresses material shortages, climate challenges and the necessity of a paradigm shift. Instead of replacing things, the work encourages us to instead replace our perspective so that we see new possibilities in used things. The title refers to the fact that 4.2 Earth globes would be required if the entire population of the Earth lived with overconsumption like in Denmark.
